Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Looking past Nicole and Ed at Antigone still in the chair.
Antigone: Okay, I've warned your friends' guards. They're doubling their number for the next 12 hours.
Nicole: Yeah, but what about ...
Panel 2
An explosion from the doorway knocks Antigone out of her chair as Nicole and Ed instinctively cringe in reaction.
SFX: Ba-WHOOM!!!
Panel 3
Two very large men (not quite Terran enforcer-class but still scary) wearing shock-gauntlets barrel in through the ruined doorway and the vestibule.
Thug1: Shock and awe!
Panel 4
Suddenly a large net springs across the vestibule, snaring the thugs.
SFX: SPROING!
Thug 1: Hey!
Thug 2: Augh!
Panel 5
They fall in a long arc to the floor near Antigone, struggling helplessly as the net tightens up around them.
Thug 1: Dammit!
Thug 2: Wot the feek?
Panel 6
Antigone begins rising, a bit shakily, to her feet. She regards the thugs. We also see a shaken Nicole in the foreground right.
Antigone: Um, as booby-traps go, that was remarkably gentle.
Nicole: I'm glad I didn't think of barging in here that way.
Panel 7
Seamus is examining the mass-detector, which has gone inert.
Seamus: A little something I set up to activate in the event of a sudden barometric shift, as in the door exploding.
Seamus: Dammit, the shock-wave damaged my mass-detector.
Panel 8
Nicole joins Seamus in examining the mass-detector, as Antigone looks on.
Antigone: Uh, what do you want me to do with these two?
Nicole: Kick 'em a few times for me.
Seamus: Whatever you want, just keep them out of my hair.
