Quantum Vibe

A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

QV on a short break [ Jul 15, 2026 ]

QUANTUM VIVE is taking a break for a few weeks, as we prepare for Part 2 of the Novo Palermo story, and also for a Kickstarter campaign for Part 1, which will start in September.

In the meantime, Not-Safe.Space will continue, as a murder mystery begins and the relationship between Eithne and Diana develops in unexpected directions.

Not-Safe.Space is a NSFW strip but more than half the pages are SFW so I've set those to *not* require a Patreon membership. Readers should be able to follow the story without seeing the NSFW pages. If I've done this right.

Transcript For Strip 708

Panel 1
In a booth with a long table, six men meet: Gus Mann, Rep. Hugh Stockyard, Senator Bud Ringo of Luna, across from the three 'creepers' from page 3: Julio Ortega, Stefan Robert and Henry Shoji of West Terra (GENSAXWAL).
Ortega: So, what is your impression of O'Murchadha?
Ortega: Is he a threat?

Panel 2
Stockyard, flanked by Mann and Ringo.
Stockyard: He's an arrogant prick, a real smart-ass.
Stockyard: I wouldn't mind taking him down a peg or two, but I don't think he's interested in the xenotime mines on Io.

Panel 3
Focus on Ringo, with Stockyard and Ortega in the frame.
Ringo: I agree with the latter point.
Ringo: He was close-mouthed about his business, but I got the impression the Jovian System is just a way-station for him.
Panel 4
Focus on Shoji, with Ortega and Robert
Shoji: I think I've confirmed that.
Shoji: There's a transport scheduled to depart Tros Spaceport for the Saturn System on the 15th. That only gives him four days.
Mann (OP): How do you know he's taking that transport?

Panel 5
Looking past Shoji across the table at the Lunans, who are smiling knowingly.
Shoji: Well, the transport is owned by an L-5er outfit. Damned tight-lipped.
Shoji: But the assistant dock-master is a cheez-head – it wasn't hard to turn him, and get access to ships' manifests.

Panel 6
Focus on Mann.
Shoji: What of the Sun Diver girl, Oresme?
Mann: I wouldn't call her friendly to Lunar interests, no. But she seems entirely anti-political.

Panel 7
Focus on Ringo:
Ringo: You gentlemen spoke with the gynoid, Murphy.
Ringo: How likely is it that she's an agent for Huojingong? They've been nosing around Io quite a bit lately.

Panel 8
All 3 Terrans in frame. Ortega and Shoji are looking at Robert with sly grins, while Robert looks sullen.
Ortega: Well, Stefan here tried nosing around Murphy, and didn't get very far.
Shoji: I doubt very much she's anyone's agent, except O'Murchadha's.
