Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Signing and Shipping [ Jan 10, 2025 ]
Scott has finished autographing all the books, and we've started shipping them out. Your physical perks should show up in the next week or so (might be a bit longer for international shipments). We expect to send out vouchers (via email) to those who wanted the PDF e-books.
Once again, many thanks to our backers. Stand by for further updates.
Panel 1
Medium close-up view of another of the Argosy's cannon getting hit by a laser bolt.
Mueller (from ship): Aaaaa! Not again!
Strider: Cannon One hit and disabled, sir.
Strider: That leaves Two and Four.
Panel 2
On the control deck we see Strider, Mueller, Santos, Bartoli.
Santos: Keep charging and firing! Maybe we'll get lucky.
Santos: Bartoli! Evasive maneuvers! Random pattern!
Bartoli: Aye, sir.
Panel 3
Strider and Mueller, reacting to their monitor screens. Santos in the foreground right.
Mueller: No! Fuck!
Strider: Captain, they've hit Cannon Two. Only Cannon Four remains.
Santos: For once I agree with Mueller.
Panel 4
Medium shot of Santos, grinding his teeth.
Santos: So we can't seem to hit them, and we can't out-run them.
Santos: Anyone have any bright ideas?
Mueller (OP): Aaah! Goddammit!
Strider (OP): That was Cannon Four, sir.
Panel 5
Bartoli and Santos.
Bartoli: Sir, since they've been targeting weapons, it is clear they intend to take the ship intact.
Bartoli: Why not stand down, let the pirates board, and then the combat-bots will take care of them?
Panel 6
Looking past Mueller, his face buried in his hands, towards Santos and Bartoli.
Santos: I don't like that idea, but I have to admit I don't have a better one.
Bartoli: Captain, we're being hailed …
Santos: Let's hear them.
Panel 7
The men are looking out the portside window at a new, menacing-looking ship, in station-keeping with the Argosy, a laser cannon pointed at them.
Voice on speaker: If you gentlemen will look out your window, you will see we have our sights trained on your command deck.
Voice: Surrender now, or taste vacuum.
Panel 8
Medium shot of Santos, looking tired. Beyond him, a terrified Mueller and shocked Strider.
Santos: Looks like we'll have to try your idea, Bartoli.
Santos: Cut engines, stop the spin. Signal our surrender.
