Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panels 1-4
The four panels put together show a larger scene in Nicole's apartment. It is completely trashed, with ripped plushies, smashed crockery and plastic knick-nacks, various liquids flung across the walls, an over turned chair, ripped-up paper. In the lower right, Nicole is lying on the sofa, her head and shoulders propped up on pillows, eating what looks like ice cream out of a quart container. Her hair is a disheveled mess, and her 'anysuit' is turned off – in its natural state it looks something like a wetsuit with elbow and knee-length sleeves and leggings. She has a dull expression and is looking at her Screen, which is now enlarged to about 80 x 45 cm and propped up on a shelf to the right of the sofa. The Screen is displaying some dramatic program.
Each Panel also contains a small inset in the upper left corner, showing the face of Nicole's boss at Audi-Chrome, who is not happy.
Panel 1
Inset: Bernie, Nicole's boss, looking preturbed.
Electronic voice: Recorded message.
Bernie: Nicole, it's Bernie. You remember, your manager at Audio-Chrome?
Panel 2
Inset: Bernie.
Bernie: You haven't shown up or called for five days!
Panel 3
Inset: Bernie, anger building.
Bernie: You've been a good employee so I'm willing to cut you some slack, but only so much.
Panel 4
Inset: Bernie, practically yelling.
Bernie: If you don't call or show up tomorrow morning with a damn good explanation, you're fired!
