Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Nicole and Murphy are entering another room.
Nicole: So you're certain he's still there?
Murphy: No, not yet. That facility's sub-net is closely-guarded.
Murphy: But if I can get physically close enough I might be able to verify his presence using our private comm channel.
Panel 2
Nicole and Murphy are back at the designer screen.
Murphy: Rather ironic, he'd end up near Xi'an.
Nicole: Yeah. Your former home was near Xian Xin, on Huoxing.
Nicole: Do you miss the place?
Panel 3
Now Murphy pauses, looking reflective.
Murphy: There was much I enjoyed about my life there, and some I did not ...
Murphy: But I suppose I miss my Master Po more than anything. He was good and kind and brilliant. I admired him.
Murphy: He always made me feel that I was much more … than the decorative sex toy I was designed to be.
Panel 4
Nicole puts an arm around Murphy's shoulder and kisses her cheek. Murphy responds with a wry grin.
Nicole: Well, you are the best friend I've ever had; I hope that counts for something.
Murphy: Friend-with-benefits, you mean.
Nicole: Icing on the cake.
Murphy: What's a cake without icing?
