Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
QV on a short break [ Jul 15, 2026 ]
QUANTUM VIVE is taking a break for a few weeks, as we prepare for Part 2 of the Novo Palermo story, and also for a Kickstarter campaign for Part 1, which will start in September.
In the meantime, Not-Safe.Space will continue, as a murder mystery begins and the relationship between Eithne and Diana develops in unexpected directions.
Not-Safe.Space is a NSFW strip but more than half the pages are SFW so I've set those to *not* require a Patreon membership. Readers should be able to follow the story without seeing the NSFW pages. If I've done this right.
Transcript For Strip 1075
Panel 1Murphy has taken off her rucksack and is reaching for something inside it. Nicole is barely able to speak but stammers anyway.
Nicole: Wha … how … why did ...
Murphy: There's not enough time to extricate him from that machinery safely.
Panel 2
Murphy has a 4-litre-sized bag in one hand, with the other she's easing Seamus' head into it. The hot blade has cauterized the neck so there's little bleeding.
Murphy: Seamus told me to bring a save-it-bag on my return.
Murphy: He didn't have time to explain why but now I understand.
Panel 3
The girls' attention is suddenly drawn to the doorway, through which we hear sounds of some commotion.
SFX: UNF!! CLANG! ARGH! HUFF! AUGH!
Panel 4
Nicole and Buford rush into the hallway, where they find Li and Nigel with blooded blades in their hands, and three guards' bodies on the floor.
Li: As I feared, they've established zinger suppression.
Nigel: Five more coming!
Panel 5
Nicole steps between them, with her trusty Tanfoglio, and fires off five shots. Li and Nigel flinch from the noise.
SFX: BLAM!! BLAM!! BLAM!! BLAM!! BLAM!!
Panel 6
The squad trots back the way they came up the corridor, with Li in the lead and the Beltapes taking up the rear. Murphy has the bag with Seamus' head in the crook of her left arm.
Li: You might have warned me about the noise.
Nicole: What?
Panel 7
The squad approaches the heavy door they'd burned and bent earlier. Nicole is firing three more shots back the way they came. Li and the Beltapes flinch again.
SFX: BLAM!! BLAM!! BLAM!!
Li: Couldn't you get a silencer for that thing?
Nicole: What?
Panel 8
The squad emerges on the other side of the heavy door.
Li (thoughtsend): We're all gonna be deaf before we get out of here.
Nicole (thoughtsend): I know, I shoulda got a silencer for my gun.
