Quantum Vibe

A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]

The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.

Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.

(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Thanks to all for supporting this Kickstarter!

Transcript For Strip 1114

Panel 1
Sculpting class. Zander, Bok, Sophia, Ophelia, Georg, Owdrah, Lisa at tables, molding things out of clay with their hands and simple sculpting tools. Bok is looking at the misshapen lump of clay in front of him with disgust. The others are having varying degrees of success and enjoyment. Owdarh is doing best. The teacher, an android named Mr. Occipital, is wandering around the room, observing their work.
Bok: This sucks.
Sophia: Oh, Bok, it doesn't matter what your sculpture looks like.
Bok: It matters to me, and this sucks.

Panel 2
Occiptial has moved over between Bok and Sophia.
Mr. Occipital: Ms. Packard is correct, Mr. Clark … the importance of art, as in life, is not as much the result you get as the effort you put into it.
Bok: If the results don't matter, why put in the effort? That doesn't make sense.
Mr. Occipital: You misunderstand my meaning, Mr. Clark ...
Panel 3
Zander and Sophia suppress giggles while Bok schools Mr. Occipital:
Bok: Well, Mr. Occipital, then I suppose my understanding of your meaning doesn't matter as much as the effort you put into making me understand, right?
Mr. Occipital: That isn't what I meant, either …
Bok: Keep working on it, Occipital, you're doing great.
