A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Bok follows Alyss into the Displacer Room. She's pulling her zringer off her finger.
Bok: Why are you going back to Zytemonde?
Alyss: Because there are countless other Zytemondians who could have a better future.
Alyss: The kind of future you and the refugees we rescued will have.
Panel 2
Alyss lays her zringer on a console as Bok looks on.
Alyss: Maybe this is a personal failing of mine, but … I guess I still want to fulfill the dream I shared with your father.
Alyss: I can't save Zytemonde, but maybe I can save a lot more Zytemondians.
Alyss: There's a chance I can save them, and I have to try.

Alyss stands in the displacement chamber as Bok watches.
Alyss: This shouldn't take long. Maybe a dessime.
Bok: What if … you don't make it back?
