A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Bok: Why are you going back to Zytemonde?
Alyss: Because there are countless other Zytemondians who could have a better future.
Alyss: The kind of future you and the refugees we rescued will have.

Alyss lays her zringer on a console as Bok looks on.
Alyss: Maybe this is a personal failing of mine, but … I guess I still want to fulfill the dream I shared with your father.
Alyss: I can't save Zytemonde, but maybe I can save a lot more Zytemondians.
Alyss: There's a chance I can save them, and I have to try.
