Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Without pausing, Alyss walks out past Bok where he was standing by the doorway.
Alyss: Eaves-dropping is rude, you know.
Bok: Yeah, but it's a handy way to learn things.
Bok: You and my father are more than 'just good friends,' aren't you?
Panel 2
Alyss continues walking, Bok follows her.
Alyss: Not that it's your business, but yes. I met him two years after your mother died.
Alyss: He was despondent, and lonely. He told me your mother was 'a damned tough act to follow.'
Alyss: I suppose he found in me a hope for the future not unlike the hope I found in him.
Panel 3
Bok and Alyss.
Bok: I … barely remember my mother. I was only five when she ...
Bok: Do you know what it's like to not have a mother?
Alyss: No, Bok, I don't. I didn't have a father growing up, then later discovered I have eleven.
Bok: Huh?
Alyss: Long story.
