To boldly go where no manic pixie dream girl has gone before.
Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
What Comes Next [ Mar 18, 2024 ]
The war is over, but This Means War has a ways to go. Novo Paolo/Bubbleopolis is still in a nebula/stellar nursery, no one knows what happened to the planet Sharen (center of the Intergalactic Council), and the status of the now-surrendered Invaders is yet to be resolved. What will they do when they learn their homeworld is basically destroyed? Will Alyss and Li be re-united? How about Diana (the real one) and Otto?
These questions will be resolved in the next few weeks, before This Means War part 3 wraps in late May.
After that, I plan to go BACK in time about 400 years, to when Alyss and Li left their home in the Sol System to colonize a new world on the far side of the galaxy. As one might expect, hijinks ensue. New subtitle yet to be determined, start date sometime in around the start of July. Stay tuned!
Panel 1
Murphy, Hugo and Theo are standing in front of a double-pressure door.
Theo: Think of it, my friends! As I speak with you here, I am also in contact with billions of Cush, directing their activities.
Hugo: What are you directing them to do?
Panel 2
Medium c/u on Theo. A light next to the pressure door is flashing.
Theo: Oh, a great many things … explore, gather resources, build more ships, assimilate new technologies ...
Theo: … by the way, did you know a hive-mind can't really invent anything? And I don't mean design a better can opener, I mean something really new, a conceptual leap!
Theo: All it can do is modify other species' concepts and processes. But it can be remarkably adaptable.
Panel 3
Another three-shot. The door behind them is starting to open.
Hugo: But what are your plans? To escape this galaxy?
Theo: Oh, at some point, certainly.
Theo: What I'm focusing on presently is annihilating the Brennir.
Panel 4
Theo has stepped across the threshold and is half-turned back towards a hesitant Murphy and Hugo, gesturing them to follow.
Theo: Before you judge me, consider that the Brennir are a vicious, savage people.
Theo: This galaxy will be better off without them.
Theo: Please do come along.
Panel 5
We can see that they are in a large bay, and dominating the space is the Causa Sui.
Theo: Here is your personal craft. From my scans I gather you've been tinkering with the Displacement Drive, trying to make it work.
Theo: A laudable project, which I would encourage.
Panel 6
Another three-shot of the trio. Hugo and Murphy are glancing nervously at each other.
Theo: In the meanwhile, I offer you this Icosaship as your sanctuary.
Theo: Beyond that, I hope you will consider joining me in my war with the Brennir.
Theo: And perhaps after that we can finally establish peace in this galaxy.
