Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
In one of the bedrooms, Diana sounds off on Dong.
Diana: This morning said you were going to find me an advogado!
Diana: I didn't ask for a gourd-damned army!
Diana: In the first place, there's no way I can afford to pay all of them.
Panel 2
Diana continues ranting.
Diana: And secondly, may I remind you that I'm doing what's supposed to be a confidential investigation!
Diana: I tell people I'm researching for a documentary, but no one's going to believe me when this crowd shows up!
Dong: I have not broken any confidences, Diana.
Panel 3
Dong quietly explains to Diana.
Dong: And, my friends do not require payment from you in advance.
Dong: I paid them a small retainer myself, to get their interest.
Dong: But if the worst-case situation occurs, then they will want to be paid.
Dong: I presume your own sponsor will be helpful in that regard?
Panel 4
Diana ponders the situation.
Diana: Ok, then. Give me a minute or two to collect my thoughts and I'll speak with them.
Dong: Thank you, Diana. I shall leave you to your thoughts.
Diana: Ask them who can come up with the best Sergio Cooper joke. That will keep them amused.
