Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)

Sergio leans forward, establishing dominance over Macron
Sergio: Okay, let’s get down to business.
Sergio: Why are you defecting? And what do you have to offer us?
Macron: I’m defecting because the woman currently in charge of this project has gone insane.

Sergio: Go on.
Macron: Her seconds are too cowardly to stop her from completely wrecking the Council’s support among the vassal states. You might consider them ‘franchisees.’
Sergio: I understand how your system is structured.

Macron: She refuses to admit that without our ‘Rainbow bridge’ affording us egress into the city, we cannot win here.
Macron: She refuses to negotiate a withdrawal. This business of attacking hospitals, for gourd’s sake. It’s madness.
Macron: She has removed the velvet glove revealing the iron fist – except the ‘iron fist’ is remarkably brittle without its covering.

Sergio: ‘Rainbow bridge,’ eh? Your people can certainly wax poetic.
Macron: I don’t understand the technology. Only that it is no longer available to us.
Macron: But as for what I have to offer you ...
