Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Now the girls are in an electronics shop. Nicole is looking at a display of some screens. Ventura is looking thoughtful.
Nicole: Hmm. I wonder if Buford would like to have a Screen of her own?
Ventura: ... persons with rights ... what about Beltapes?
Panel 2
Nicole turns to look at Ventura, somewhat annoyed by the distraction.
Nicole: What about Beltapes?
Nicole: Oh. Yeah, Beltapes, furries, porpoises, anthrofish ... the rule is anyone who can understand what rights are and can both respect and demand them, has them.
Panel 3
Nicole is examining one of the Screens from the display. Ventura stands by.
Nicole: Ooo! A plasmodic orthochrome display! Sixty-four teraquad processor!
Nicole: Maybe I'll get one for Buford and one for me.
Nicole: Hey, Ventura, would you like one, too?
Panel 4
Nicole is turned to look at Ventura, a bit embarrassed by her faux pas. Ventura is demure.
Ventura: I would but ... I'm afraid I can't really own anything. I'm property.
Ventura: Anything I bring back to the shop is taken by my owner.
