Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
Back in the taxi, Buford, Ventura (now sitting up in the middle) and Nicole. Nicole is holding the still-glowing tracer in her palm.
Buford: Aren't you going to deactifate it?
Nicole: If I do that, Xie-Po Tong will know we've discovered this tracer.
Panel 2
Medium shot of Nicole, leaning over to look at the street below.
Nicole: I have a better idea.
Nicole: Driver, set down near that bus terminal, and wait for me.
Panel 3
Nicole is standing in the boarding well of a bus, one hand grasping the rail in front of one of the front seats. In an inset panel, show the tracer dropping from her hand.
Nicole: Excuse me, is this the bus to Xian Hong Kong?
Driver: Can't you read? This bus goes to Mo'i Haiphong.
Nicole: Oops! Sorry.
Panel 4
The taxi flies away, leaving the bus with other passengers still boarding.
Buford (from taxi): Where do you get these ideas?
Nicole: I viewed a lot of spy thrillers when I was a kid.
