Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Seamus, Nicole and Murphy stand inside the Weapons Shop of Escher -- a crazy, which-way-is-up place with display counters oriented in all directions, like the iconic M.C. Escher 'Relativity' drawing, only with ramps instead of steps. The trio looks around -- Seamus approvingly, Murphy curiously, Nicole confusedly.
Nicole: Ulp!
Murphy: Fascinating.
Seamus: I see they've put in a new section for -- crossbows?
Panel 2
Our trio are approached by a shop clerk, a handsome middle-aged woman bearing the name-tag, 'Cathy.' She enters the frame from a different angle than that which the trio are standing.
Cathy: Greetings! May I help you find something?
Nicole: Gourd knows I'd need help finding my own ass in this place.
Panel 3
Cathy listens intently to Seamus and Nicole.
Seamus: My associate is looking for an alternative to her zringer, something not subject to nullification fields.
Nicole: And easier to carry than a shovel.
Panel 4
Cathy is leading the trio through the store, walking across the variously-angled ramps and platforms
Cathy: I never thought of a shovel as being a weapon.
Nicole: I'm very effective with it, but I can't find one that'll fit in my belt-pack.
