Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1
Cathy, Nicole, and Seamus at the counter. Cathy has her screen out, set to notepad-size. Nicole is holding the Witness rather ineptly, pointing it up away from the people around her.
Cathy: Since you're new to firearms we strongly recommend you sign up for a handgun safety course, which is offered at the shooting range next door.
Nicole: Uh-huh.
Panel 2
Cathy, Nicole and Seamus. Nicole has removed the magazine (empty) and is looking at it curiously.
Nicole: Is there a way I can try before I buy?
Cathy: Of course. We can send a fab order to the range and they'll have a copy ready for you. No obligation beyond the course fees.
Panel 3
Same scene, Nicole lays the display gun down on the counter, now Seamus speaks up.
Nicole: I've already trained to use a zinger. Not sure why I need ...
Seamus: Oh, you really should take the course. There are differences between zinger and firearm that will surprise you.
Panel 4
Cathy smiles as she taps the order into her Screen. Nicole still isn't sure she isn't being snookered.
Nicole: All right.
Nicole: Kind of a convenient arrangement you have with that range, huh.
Cathy: No one told us we couldn't do it.
