A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1Nigel, Buford, Nicole and Murphy.
Murphy: It happens that Nicole's boyfriend Li-Liang is the master strategist who led the successful Ionian miners' revolt.
Murphy: He thinks that with our displacement drive, a squad of five people can successfully rescue Seamus from the Terrans.
Panel 2
Looking past Murphy at Nigel and Buford, who are exchanging glances again.
Murphy: And, well, he says we could use some people with Beltape-level strength to round out our squad.
Murphy: Would you guys be interested?
Panel 3
Nigel and Buford look at each other quizzically.
Nigel: Well …
Buford: Seamus helped prefent a bloody war among us Belters. We owe him.
Panel 4
Now Nigel and Buford are smiling at Nicole and Murphy.
Nigel: And you two helped expose t'e bastards who murdered my sister. So, I'm in.
Buford: Me, too.
Nigel: No, you're not.
