Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1A
Close-up on one of the floats being pulled under the surface.
SFX: Ploosh
Panel 1B
Medium shot of Bok and his Dad. Bok is excited, Dad is putting a gently controlling hand on one of Box's hands holding his fishing rod.
Bok: I GOT ONE! I GOT ONE!
Dad: You sure did! But don't jerk too hard, son, or you'll just rip the hook out of its mouth.
Dad: Give him a little play, then pull him in.
Panel 2
Bok and Dad start to pull hard on the rod, but the pull-back is stronger than they anticipated – the rod arcs almost to the breaking point.
Bok: Wow, it must be a big one!
Dad: Uh, yeah! I guess so!
Dad: Something's not right here ...
Panel 3
Suddenly a very large robotic fish rises up out of the water, the fishing line leading from its mouth. There is a plate on its upper side that reads 'CITY COR'. Bok and his Dad look at it in horror as they drop the fishing rod.
Dad: Shit!
