A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly 100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.

Panel 1In the alleyway with the toughs and the dead guy. Paramedics are putting the toughs on stretchers, while an ME examines Ma-Bo Nu. Observing it all is the trench-coated Chief Inspector Ho Rai-Chiu. Another investigator, Lu Richang, stands with him.
Lu: Looks pretty clear to me, Chief Ho.
Ho: Tell me what you think, Richang.

Two-shot, Lu and Ho
Lu: Larceny has had those three on their radar for months. Suspected android-theft ring.
Ho: And the deceased?
Lu: I've had my people ask around ...

Looking up from Ma-Bo still on the ground, to Lu and Ho looking down at him.
Lu: Ma-Bo Nu comes ... came here from Xin Xiang every few weeks, to frequent the brothels ...
Lu: … the ones with android doxies.
Ho: So, he had a thing for fake flesh, huh. Occupation?

Lu: Apparently he's a trust-fund baby. Nephew of the late Po Xu-ke.
Lu: Likely had his dalliances here to avoid embarrassing the family back home.
Ho: Looks like his uncle will be scolding him in the after-life now.
