Quantum Vibe
A thousand years in the future, humanity has colonized worlds in nearly
100 galaxies, thanks to Quantum Vibremonic technologies developed five
centuries earlier. Other new technologies have created various
off-shoots of humanity and extended life expectancies five-fold. The
story begins with how a mad scientist and his plucky assistant, along
with their robot friend, brought humanity to the stars, and continues
with the adventures of some unique people in fantastic places.
Kickstarter successful and closed [ May 19, 2026 ]
The Kickstarter campaign for Not-Safe.Space Chapter 3 concluded successfully on April 21, and Scott extended the time allowed for late pledges until May 19.
Books have been ordered from the printer and Scott will be spending the next week or so setting up and sending the PDF files to those who asked for them.
(There are still six of you who have not responded to the survey asking for e-mail and snail-mail addresses, he'll do the best he can.)
Panel 1
The Helio-Flyer and her escorts now flying in a wide pattern, each ship 50 meters distant from the next, all decelerating towards the camera.
Pilot #3 (Bo): And after my fourth wife split, I decided that I preferred living in the sky to doing the 'domestic bliss' thing, and since then I've been splitting time between Mercury and Huoxing, doing special runs as called upon.
Pilot #2: That was real exciting, Beauregard. You still awake, Nicole?
Panel 2
Reverse angle, now the ships are zooming by and we see Mercury from a high-lattitude angle, looming large in the background.
Nicole: That's affirmative, Gary
Pilot #2: Good, because we're coming up on descent-maneuvers time.
Panel 3
Medium close-up on cyber-Nicole. She looks exhausted but grimly determined. We can see one of the Sun-Shooter ships in the near background.
Pilot #1: Ya sure ya don't wanna link your control systems over?
Nicole: That's a negative, Jake.
Panel 4
Split into 3 sub-frames, with Nicole's dialog spread across the top of all three. In each frame from left-to-right are Pilot 1 (Jake), Pilot 2 (Gary), and Pilot 3 (Bo). They are all softly smiling in admiration for this brash kid.
Nicole: I am going to bring this hunka junk home all by my lonesome, so kindly stay out of my thrusters.
